To the west of Colorado is Utah, where the Great Salt Lake can be seen at the upper left. The Colorado Plateau, with its salmon-colored rocks, extends south from Utah into Arizona. The Grand Canyon of the Colorado River cuts westward through the mountains in northern Arizona.
